Testing of Water Jet Plunger Pump for Vessel Cleaning

At Wuxi Petrel, every high-pressure pump undergoes a comprehensive factory test before delivery to ensure reliable performance, operational stability, and compliance with customer requirements. The test process is designed to verify the pump’s mechanical performance under different operating conditions and simulate actual working environments.

The standard factory test procedure includes:

1. No-load operation:

The pump runs without load for 15–30 minutes to verify basic operation, lubrication performance, and system stability.

2. Half-load operation: The operating pressure is gradually increased to approximately 50% load and maintained for 30 minutes to check running conditions during intermediate  operation.

3. Full-load operation: The pump operates under rated working conditions for 2 hours to validate pressure stability, vibration control, lubrication performance, and overall durability.

During testing, key inspection criteria include:

- Working pressure stability

- Pump body vibration level

- Lubrication oil temperature and pressure

- Overall operating condition and reliability

The tested equipment is a High Pressure Water Jet Plunger Pump designed for vessel cleaning applications. The system is equipped with a 110 kW autotransformer-type electric control cabinet, featuring phase-failure protection and leakage protection to ensure safe and reliable operation.

The complete cleaning system includes a low-pressure inlet filter, fan-shaped cleaning nozzles, high-pressure hoses, and an outlet tee connection, allowing two water guns to operate simultaneously for improved cleaning efficiency in shipyards, vessel maintenance, and industrial cleaning applications.

About Us

Petrel's foreign trade share takes around 50%. To meet standards and requirement of different foreign clients, Petrel continuously improve its production management.
Petrel improves product management system by ensuring the trackability of raw material sourcing, heat treatment process, and machining accuracy. The codes on key parts allow Petrel to track which steel mill supplies the material, which factory conducts the heat treatment, inspection records of fine machining, etc. To sustain products' high quality, Petrel heavily invests its calibration lab by importing various inspection equipment, such as spectrometers, Brinell hardness gauges, coordinate measuring machine, etc.
To promote and sustain a high level of productivity and safety, Petrel also pays attention to employee training, which includes 6s lean methodology, instructions of equipment, standards, requirement of production process, etc.
